Really- Where did 2012 go?  Michael just finished up his annual video look back at the year that was.  What a year 2012 was too!

Ya know- we really do have a lot of fun around here:

Frozen In Time

Yes, there is a blog.  I know that it’s been a while.  I think my fingers have been frozen.  Perhaps it was really my mind.

Life is like that some times.  Our creativity, desire, energy, purpose, becomes a bit like the picture of our stream (captured yesterday in our sub-zero temperatures.)   It becomes a little frozen around the edges.   For our frozen stream, we used a pic-ax to break up the ice so our horses in “Burdock Meadow” could drink the Mother Nature way, as opposed to buckets that we would have to fill and carry.    To unfreeze our energy, we sometimes need a little time-out, step-back and reconsideration.

The Holidays and start of the New Year deserve a little break.  A time to celebrate with reflection on the year that’s been and the time to plan for the year that’s ahead.

For all who read and wonder, the farm is indeed cold today (-7 without windchill) but all is well.   After much debate, the horses will spend another day inside, out of the wind and bitter cold.  They can slow down, take a little break, munch on hay and drink their free flowing (heated) water.

You Tube

Like most things in life, you start small and then you grow.  Take the farm for instance.  When we first came here I brought three horses with me.  We can now have 40-50 on the property.

The farm’s own Youtube Channel is another example.  We started with one video and a few views.  We have now had more than 50-thousand views of our videos and its growing by the day.

We’ve just posted video from each and every one of the chapters on the DVD, 40 Fundamentals of English Riding.  Check it out:

Hollie in French

Hollie’s popular book on riding, 40 Fundamentals of English Riding, is now available in French.  Larousse, the famous French publisher  saw the English edition of the book a year ago and thought it was great.  They liked it so much they decided they wanted to translate it and publish it in France.  (It’s also going to be available in Quebec, as you would expect.)

French Edition of '40 Fundamentals': Larousse de L'Equitation

So for you English-speakers who want to work on both your riding and your French at the same time, it’s the perfect book.
